Where is it? You can find flyboarding experiences on most major beaches in Tenerife, including Playa de las Américas and Costa Adeje.
Why go? If you’re looking to try something new and exhilarating, flyboarding is where it’s at. Challenge yourself to maintain your balance as you’re propelled up to 15m above the sea.

Museum of Nature and Archaeology
What is it? A big museum focusing on the natural history and cultural heritage of the Canary Islands.
Where is it? Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the island’s capital city.
Why go? The museum contains many significant archaeological finds and is home to the indigenous Guanche mummies. At only €5 entry per person, it’s well worth a visit.
La Laguna Old Town
What is it? A UNESCO World Heritage site known for its well-preserved historical architecture.
Where is it? The Old Town is in the centre of San Sebastian de La Laguna, in the north of the island.
Why go? La Laguna has historical charm in abundance. Surrounded by architecture from the 15th-17th centuries, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped back in time.

Tenerife’s nightlife is absolutely buzzing. From superclubs to beach bars, party animals won’t be short of ways to entertain themselves.
Papagayo Beach Club
What is it? A beach club offering a classy but electric atmosphere.
Where is it? At the north end of Playa de las Américas.
Why go? Restaurant by day, dance venue by night, Papagayo is a one-stop-shop for good times. You can watch the sunset with a cocktail in hand, then shift into party mode on the moonlit dancefloor.
Sunblast Festival
What is it? An electronic music festival hosted in Tenerife every summer.
Where is it? The festival is normally held in Costa Adeje, just north of Playa de las Américas.
Why go? Sunblast is the biggest electronic music festival in the Canary Islands, featuring both local and international artists. Even if you’re not a huge fan of the genre, the crowd and atmosphere always make it a day to remember.
For the nature lover
With its natural beauty and unique landscapes, Tenerife is a nature lover’s dream.
Teide National Park
What is it? A UNESCO World Heritage site around the imposing Mount Teide volcano.
Where is it? Slap bang in the middle of the island… you can’t miss it!
Why go? Mount Teide is an active volcano (don’t panic – it hasn’t erupted since 1909) that has incredible views from the summit. Strap your hiking boots on or opt for taking a cable car to the top.
Jardín Botánico
What is it? A botanical garden featuring a diverse range of flora.
Where is it? In Puerto de la Cruz on the north side of the island.
Why go? The garden contains a variety of local, exotic and ancient plants to boggle at. It’s also very pretty.
For the budding influencer
If your Instagram is full of travel and lifestyle shots, you’ll find plenty of inspiration in Tenerife.
Museo de Malvasia
What is it? A wine museum showcasing and selling wines from around the Canary Islands.
Where is it? Icod de los Vinos, an area known for its fertile lands and vineyards.
Why go? The museum’s wine tasting experience is the perfect way to spend a relaxing afternoon. Just make sure you take any photos while you can still tell which way the camera is facing.
Masca Village
What is it? A small mountain village that’s home to around 90 inhabitants.
Where is it? At the head of the Masca Gorge in the Macizo de Teno mountains.
Why go? Situated 650m above sea level, the picturesque Masca Village offers views like no other. Framed by mountains and exotic greenery, it’s one of the most Instagrammable spots on the island.
